More of Zanzibar

Hans enjoys the evening’s local fish market. The hub starts at dawn and continues until the sun makes its appearance.  Everybody tries to sell their products to you, and each stall sells basically the same stuff. Once you choose your fish, they grill it and serve it on a paper plat with a sauce of your choice.

Wimcar, Nellie, Chris and Julia were in and out.
A little restaurant, with burning lamps and a flowery Pergola is the perfect setting for a Zanzibar dinner. Hans and Elisme strolled back with a peeled mango, topped with shocking pink chilli curry powder, which Elisme indulged in, and they joined up with the rest of the party. We were in our room at 23:45. Wimcar took a few side steps up the stairs (definitely not due to Wine, it’s too expensive). He was DEAD TIRED!! Nellie burst out in laughter as she was feeling the same tiredness.

Chris and Julia were early birds. They enjoyed breakfast (fresh fruit, juice, and steaming hot omelettes, made to perfection) on the roof overlooking the harbour.
Shopping was high on the list of priorities. A good deal of pro bargaining, and we ended up saving a couple of hundred thousands of shillings less.
Nellie was now adorned to perfection in a true Zanzibar way.

We enjoyed a BIG CUPPACHINO  on the beach front at a coffee hut

The taxi driver, Eddy, who is Talif’s son, was waiting to take us to the South. Jambiani would be our home for the next two days. Hans obtained our ferry tickets for Monday 12:30, back to Dar.

Wimcar and Hans bought CD'S with local Zanzibar music. Soon, we were all moving to the rhythm.

In Dukaduka, it was a busy morning for the local taxis. The people sit inside, open rails on the side, and the roof is for their shopping.

Everybody was buying and selling this Saturday morning.
Eddy bought shocky-shocky, a red thorny fruit, and we ended up tasting it. When getting through the red thorns, it tastes similar to our litchi.
